"$49 outgoing calls free" SMS is a spam

If you received the following SMS and are asked to forward to 10 people, please do not do so.

The SMS reads:

Today is the day when SingTel, M1 and Starhub celebrate the mark of Singaporeans sending a total of 60 billions local messages. Forward this msg to 10 person and you will have $49 of outgoing calls free!!! After so, you may check your phone bill to verify. :)

This SMS is a spam, according to a SingTel customer care officer whom I spoke to just now.

Some actions have been taken to track the origin of this spam.

Sometimes, we just do things when we are asked to do so, without giving much thoughts on how such requests origin and how true they are.

Please disseminate this piece of information to people around you.

We gotta live our lives, with discerning minds.

To the very, very, very least, the 10 wasted SMSes could have been put into good use. :D
