Helped Mummy trim her eyebrows this morning, and realised, wow, time flies. Like many mothers, no longer she has the smooth, flawless skin and hour-glass figure that young ladies have; she used up her youth, in return for a healthy, loving family.

It may seem normal, but this is how noble mothers are.

If Dr. Lee hadn't pointed out to me that I grow in a family with successful parenting, judging by how my grandfather was well taken care of when he fell ill, I would have taken what I've always had for granted.

In a way, having a very tight-knitted and supportive family is already a bliss. There's really nothing even more priceless we can ask for.

Thinking of which, I'm grateful that Daddy is forever ready to fund me to go overseas for study or attachment, and that Mummy is forever ready to render me emotional support when I am homesick. They have opened me to a world of wide horizon, giving me the wings to soar in the beautiful sky in my life journey.

Parenting is just as similar to flying a kite. It is important to hold the string tight and keep it in sight, but sometimes, letting loose of the string and giving the kite its freedom to explore the unknown boundaries, bring about endless possibilities and wonderful surprises too.

May and June are dedicated to Mummies and Daddies. As cliche as it sounds, being filial to them every day is already the best Mother's and Father's day gifts they would want to receive. Really. :)
